Thanks April. I was floating in the pool with my 6 year old niece when I read the "inessential" part. I literally fell off the raft and in to the pool. I must have been a sight trying to gain my footing while holding the book out of the water!

Plus 1 million to this review of Daughter Of Smoke And Bone, it's definitely one of the BEST I have seen today. And I love how you convey your love. And if I had sticky flags when reading this book, it would TOTALLY look like your copy.

I loved this book too! I agree about the creepiness-- I had SUCH a hard time sleeping after reading it! I love mj so much and even won a name of the star pin in a twitter contest she held. Glad you enjoyed the book!

I did a series of booktalks on Looking for Alaska, The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, and A Great and Terrible Beauty in a YA Lit class a few years back. I also read the Ally Carter books. I love boarding school books because I wish I could have gone to boarding school and had the autonomy that the characters have.

For those if us that Never attended boarding school I think they become a wondrous, romanticized, secretive place. Students against adults, rebellious angstY teens.

A ghost story. My gran told me a story about when she was young her and her brothers wouldn't behave and her mom kept getting on to them. They still wouldn't listen to her though so she said if you all don't be good I'll call raw head and bloody bones. They still insisted on not listening so she said raw head and bloody bones three times. The next thing they know there's banging on the front door and windows. Her mom gathered all the kids with her aound the fire with a holy bible and prayed. They didn't move from there until her dad got home from work. When he came in the house her mom had him go check and see if anything was outside. When he went to check there was bloody hand prints on the door and windows and blood all around the house from where
raw head and bloody bones tried to get in.

Ghost story's, hmm. There was this vase that sat on the table for years. Then all of a sudden it was gone. No one said they moved it, but we couldn't find it. Then we found it a few days later in a closet. Totally freaked us out

The thing I love most about YA is the pace. There is always something going on whether it be some kind of mortal danger, saving the world, or a steamy love scene. Some of my favorite series are The Mortal Instruments, Vampire Academy, Hunger Games, Iron Fey, and Wicked Lovely. Thanks for the giveaway!

You pretty much hit on all the reasons why I love YA books. The unique characters, the places, the diversity, the hunky guys, and the amazing covers. Some of my favorite books and characters are The Mortal Instruments love all the characters esp. Jace, love the Shiver series, Forgive my Fins, The Goddess Test, Vampire Diaries, Need series, Sookie Stackhouse series ( oops thats adult ) , and many more. Great interview and thanks for the giveaway.
